How Trauma Trips Up Manifesting Goals

Nov 30, 2023

Do you find yourself struggling with positive thinking and law of attraction advice? Have you tried adopting a practice of positive self-talk only to find yourself paranoid and hyper-focused on preventing negative thought patterns? Are you tired of "healing" and feeling like you're getting nowhere?

The truth is, "it's not you, it's your trauma."

I spent years on the self-development and law of attraction hamster wheel feeling like I was the problem.

🚫 Maybe I was cursed

🚫 Maybe it was my mindset

🚫 Maybe I was doing it wrong

🚫 Or maybe it was all bull sh*t

After years of "doing the work" and lots of trial and error I finally realized that no manifestation technique, mantra or mindset shifting technique in the world was going to trump a body and brain that has been traumatized into trying to unconsciously thrive through chronic stress.

Trauma Implications on Manifestation

Unrecognized or unprocessed childhood and generational trauma hinders us on an emotional, physical, mental and spiritual level. Trauma survivors often struggle with a slew of symptoms such as sleep disturbances, anxiety, fear, shame, aggression, mistrust, and somatic disturbances- all of which are signs of a human body trying to cope with symptoms of prolonged or chronic stress.

Whatever keeps us stressed, keeps us at a lower frequency, which prevents us from experiencing the benefits that many manifestation and law of attraction coaches teach their clients.

Let's take a step back to further explain what this means in terms of law of attraction.

If you're reading this post, chances are you have some of the basic principles down. You understand that you can't "plant apple seeds and expect a pear tree." So you're mindful of your thoughts and habits, and how they align with your desires, but what you don't realize is that the soil that you planted these seeds in is unhealthy. It has been tainted by trauma.

In this metaphor your manifestations are the seeds and your body is the soil. You can plant all the wishes and dreams you want, you may even see a few of these sprout as a result of sheer will and effort, but as long as trauma is hiding underneath the surface, results will be lackluster, unfulfilling or inconsistent.

You'll feel constantly trapped in a cycle of hustle. Hustling for love, money, healing or simply just to get your basic needs met.

The solution? You have to replenish the metaphorical soil by adopting a trauma-informed approach to your self-care, self-empowerment, and healing.

Breaking the cycle of feeling stuck and reliving the trauma requires us to commit to a lifestyle where we practice self-awareness on a mental, emotional, physical and spiritual level. Further more in order to alchemize our trauma we must be willing to unlearn who we have become as a result of our trauma which requires us to come to peace with the pain of our past and release it on a mental, emotional, and physical level.

If you’ve experienced trauma or have unresolved wounds that you think might be getting in the way of your goals and manifestations, schedule a complimentary clarity call to learn more about how my trauma-informed approach to healing can help you alchemize your past and become a powerful co-creator in your life.
